Renovation of the playground in the Pitkäkorvenpuisto park

Project description
The City of Espoo’s landscaping department will renovate the playground in the Pitkänkorvenpuisto park. Some of the structures and equipment in the park that are in good condition will be kept; those in poor condition will be replaced. In the playground will be installed four new pieces of playground equipment: a sandbox, a ball wall, a carousel and a tower with safety surface under it. The fence and gates surrounding the playground will remain unchanged. The safety gravel under the swing will be replaced. The wooden parts of the table setting will be replaced with new ones and the setting will be attached to the ground. The bin will be replaced and placed outside the fencing, next to the entrance gate. The grass that has spread onto the playground’s rock dust surface will be peeled off and replaced with new rock dust. The rock dust surface of the playing field will be replaced. The rock dust surface of the maintenance road will also be filled in and evened out.
The shrubs by the fence on the Sunantie side will be removed and replaced with grass. The aim is to keep the rowans in the shrub area. Vegetation that is in poor condition and hinders the construction will be removed. The aim is to keep the natural grass and rock area on the eastern side of the playground.
During construction, the playground is closed.
