Renovation of the Palttinapuisto park
ParksKauklahtiThe City of Espoo has started planning the renovation of the Palttinapuisto park in Kauklahti.
Phase
Design
As part of the project, a new playground will be designed in the eastern part of the lawn area, next to the residents’ park. Once completed, the playground will become part of the residents’ park’s activities. The old and worn-out playground equipment in the Palttinapuisto park will be removed. The project will also improve opportunities for recreation throughout the park, increase shade and vegetation, and improve the condition of the lawn. The need for the old stormwater basin will be assessed and alternative uses for the area will be considered if possible.
The planning process will begin with a survey to gather residents’ ideas and wishes for developing the park. The survey will be open from Monday 31 August to Sunday 13 September 2026. You will find the link to the survey on this page.
After this, a draft plan for the park will be prepared. The draft plan will be available for comments on the Otakantaa.fi website. During the draft stage, the wishes of the residents’ park will also be taken into account, particularly regarding the new playground. The received feedback will be taken into consideration when finalising the plan. The finalised plan will then be approved and published on this page.
The plan should be completed by the end of 2026, and the renovation will be carried out in the next few years.
