Renovation of Meritori part 2

The construction project concerns the renovation of the Meritori area and its water supply. The work site is located in the area between Merivalkamanpuisto and Aallokkoranta. In the north, the site is bordered by Kivenlahdenkatu and Aallokko. The work area also includes work on intersecting and connecting streets and park paths to the extent required by the connection of structures. Some of the lighting in the Merivalkamanpuisto park will also be replaced.

Excavators will be utilising a digital model for excavation, which optimises the depth and width of the excavated area, reducing the amount of excavated land and extracted crushed rock. The purpose of these measures is to shorten the contract period and reduce the inconvenience caused to street users.

The carbon dioxide emissions of the contract will also be reduced by using renewable, fossil-free fuels in the earthworks machines and the earth-hauling trucks.
