On display: Street and park planning of Avaruuskatu detailed plan area
Streets and trafficMatinkyläThe City of Espoo’s Public Works Department has started preparing street and park plans for the Avaruuskatu detailed plan area. The plans are related to land use changes in the area and the improvement of traffic safety and stormwater management. The planning work includes the street planning of Avaruuskatu, Avaruusrata, Avaruuspolku and Kuitinmäenraitti between Avaruusrata and the Kuitinmäenraitti school path as well as park planning Avaruuspuisto to be in accordance with the valid plan (Avaruuskatu, amendment). The street and park plans will be available for public review from 17 November to 1 December 2025.

The draft street and park plans can be commented on from 2 to 13 June 2025 in the otakantaa.fi service(external link, opens in a new window). Comments and questions on the drafts can be submitted on the website.
After the draft phase, the street plan proposal to be finalised will be made available for public review 17.11.-1.12.2025. The parties concerned will be notified by letter of the public review.
The construction of the streets is expected to begin in 2026 at the earliest.
