The aim of the amendment to the local detailed plan is to facilitate the construction of residential blocks of flats for light-touch assisted living for the elderly. As part of the amendment, the dilapidated Niittykumpu chapel will be demolished. Niittykuja’s street area will be widened, and the amount of parking space in the block will be reduced. City Planning Committee has approved the plan proposal to City Board in Aug 30th, 2023.
