Background
A new station building is needed, as the current city-owned building is no longer large enough and its facilities are no longer suitable. The city will build a new, larger building to closer to the shore that is more suited for the purpose. At the same time, the city will ensure that the service route to the marina at the cape remains usable, as will the walking route around the cape. There will be no changes to parking. The current Maritime Rescue Station will remain in place for now.
