Summary
A new day-care centre is being planned for Iivisniemi. The number of residents in the area is increasing, and more day-care centre places are needed. The current day-care centre will be demolished, because it is in poor condition and does not meet the needs of modern early childhood education and care.
The new day-care centre building will be approximately 2,000 square metres in size. It will house a Finnish-speaking and Swedish-speaking day-care centre. Kaitaan koulu school will remain unchanged.
The aim is to ensure that there are enough day-care places in Iivisniemi and that the routes children use to get to the day-care centre are safe.
