Local detailed plansTapiolaA tall commercial, residential and office building is being planned for Keilaniementie, to be located near the metro station and the new light rail route. The design will pay special attention to the environment intended for pedestrians and recreation. The number of new commercial and service facilities with direct access to public areas will be increased. The connections between the park and the street level that have been constructed on top of a concrete slab above Keilaniementie will be improved. The plan has entered into force in Feb 16, 2022.

The local detailed plan in force in the area allows for the construction of a residential tower, but it has yet to be built. Instead of this tower, the amendment to the local detailed plan will facilitate increasingly diverse construction. This will promote the area’s development into a thriving, tall and densely-built whole.
