Construction of water supply in the Keilaranta area

The construction project includes the construction of the water supply and utility relocations in the Keilaranta area. The site is in the Otaniemi district. The project involves both the renovation and reconstruction of operational streets.

The construction project concerns the renovation and construction of the water supply system on Valovirta street, part of Valovirrankuja and Keilarannanaukio. The contract also includes the renewal of the Valovirta street sewage pumping station. In addition, district heating and cable relocation and construction work will be carried out in the area. The work area also includes work on intersecting and connecting streets to the extent required by the connection of structures.

Excavators will be utilising a digital model for excavation, which optimises the depth and width of the excavated area, reducing the amount of excavated land and extracted crushed rock. The purpose of these measures is to shorten the contract period and reduce the inconvenience caused to street users.

The carbon dioxide emissions of the contract will also be reduced by using renewable, fossil-free fuels in the earthworks machines and the earth-hauling trucks.
