Construction of Storhemtintie, Salinpellontie and park areas

The construction project consists of the construction of the Storhemtintie and Salinpellontie streets and parts of Tinametsä, Väli-Henttaantie, Kyläsepäntie, Storhemtin kylätie as well as the park walkways and the new route for Henttaanpuro brook. The work area is mainly located in an unbuilt field and forest area, with the exception of the southern part of Storhemtintie, where the street work extends over Vanha Tuurinmäentie.

Salinpellontie will only be available for public transport and maintenance vehicles in the section between Väli-Henttaantie and Tinametsä. There will be bus stops on Storhemtintie and Salinpellontie.

The Storhemtintie roadway, pavement and bicycle lane will be asphalted and curbs installed. A steel culvert will be built for Henttaanpuro brook. The southern end of the new street will be connected to the current Tuurinmäenympyrä.

At the northern end of Storhemtintie, Kyläsepäntie branches off to the north and Storhemtin kylätie to the east, both partly built over a distance of approx. 60 m. The streets will be left with a crushed rock surface in this construction contract. Salinpellontie, which turns to the west from the intersection, will be completed with paving and green strips up to the intersection of Väli-Henttaantie. The section between Väli-Henttaantie and Tinametsä will be completed later. Approximately 50 metres of Tinametsä will be completed. Väli-Henttaantie will be completed over a distance of approx. 50 metres starting from the intersection of Salinpellontie. A steel culvert for Henttaanpuro brook will also be built on the street section.

Walkways will be built in the park in Tuurinlaakso and in the two parks near the Storhemtintie bridge over Henttaanpuro brook, along with a new route for the brook and two wooden walkway bridges over it. The walkways will be lit. Litter bins and benches will be installed in the parks, meadow areas will be sown and trees and shrubs planted.

In order to carry out the construction, rock will be excavated and soil reinforced by stabilisation, where the soil is reinforced to form a load-bearing base for construction by mixing lime and cement into the soft clay. In connection with the street and park construction, water supply pipes, wastewater sewers and stormwater drains for rainwater and meltwater will be built. There will be street lighting on the streets. In addition, electricity and telecommunication cables and district heating pipelines will be installed under the street.

Some of the streets included in the contract will be completed later as the planning and construction of the area progresses.
