Construction of Gräsantulli

The object of the contract is the construction of the street Gräsantulli and its water supply. The project consists of rebuilding an existing street that is already used for traffic.

In the contract area, the street’s surface structures will be dismantled. The construction of a sewer, water main and stormwater drain requires excavation, which will mainly be carried out without blasting. Deep excavations will be supported with sheet pile walls to prevent collapses. To improve the bearing capacity of the ground and to support the pipes, pile slabs will be built north of the Gräsanportti intersection for a distance of approximately 55 m. Casing pipes will be installed for the electric and telephone cables.

On the streets, new street lighting will be built, kerbs of natural stone will be installed and sett paving, dice and concrete paving will be installed and the street will be asphalted. In the street green areas, grass will be sown and a few lime trees and a group of snowmound shrubs will be planted.

The work causes noise, especially during the pile-driving and excavation work.

Gräsantulli will be closed to traffic from the southern side of the Piispankalliontie intersection to the northern side of the Gräsantörmä intersection for the period 29 January 2024–30 November 2024.
