Conservation plan for the Aarnivalkea area

The goal is to preserve the characteristics of the area and to define the marginal conditions for the renovation and management of the area. In connection with the revision of the local detailed plan, the possibilities of renovating and expanding the Aarnivalkea school and the possible location of the school’s sports field in Silkkiniitty will be investigated. The plan’s participation and assessment scheme and preparation materials will be available for public review in spring 2026.

Current issues and news about the plan

  • March 18th 2026: We will organise a residents’ event for everyone interested in the plan. More information is available in the event announcement. The event will be held in Finnish. You can ask questions and give comments in English.
  • Respond to the residents’ survey(external link, opens in a new window) (in Finnish) on the conservation plan for the Aarnivalkea area between 2 February and 31 March 2026! The responses together with the reports on the area will be used as background information when preparing the conservation plan.
