Culture Bank opens up new work opportunities for art and culture professionals
Over the past year, the Culture Bank has grown into a shared web service of 14 regions, making art and culture professionals and their services visible and available for order. The service improves employment opportunities for professionals of the creative industries and makes finding and ordering art and cultural services easier also in Espoo. In line with Espoo’s strategy, the Espoo Story, the city wants to be the best place to innovate, start a business and find employment.
The Culture Bank enables professionals to showcase their competence, productise their services and reach new clients. At the same time, the clients ordering services can find performers, workshops or event professionals for their events in their own region and across regional borders.
“The Culture Bank helps art and culture professionals make their skills visible. We want to lower the threshold for finding new clients and partners while supporting entrepreneurial competence and the productisation of services,” says Eerika Lehtinen, National Coordinator at the Culture Bank.
Exceptionally extensive regional cooperation in the background
Awareness and use of the Culture Bank have been promoted in Espoo since the beginning of 2026.
“The Culture Bank is a gesture of goodwill to art and cultural professionals. Highlighting and marketing one’s own competence takes a lot of time and resources. As the city, we want to help creators to have wider visibility and create new kinds of job opportunities. We help them with communicating about the Culture Bank and the wonderful services and art content it provides,” says Salla Vallius, Project Coordinator and Moderator for the Espoo and Helsinki area.
When it is easy for clients to find suitable artists and content in the region, the expertise of art and culture professionals can become part of everyday life, communities and events for more and more Espoo residents. The clients may be private individuals, municipalities, educational institutions, wellbeing services counties, associations, companies and other organisations.
Both the art and culture creators and the clients can register as users of the Culture Bank free of charge.
