Swimming not recommended at Laaksolahti beach because of high levels of blue-green algae

Notice to beach users.

Very high levels of blue-green algae were first observed at Laaksolahti beach on 12 July 2026. Swimming is not recommended until further notice.

Blue-green algae may cause symptoms such as nausea and irritation of the eyes, nose, or lungs.

The blue-green algae situation at Laaksolahti beach is being monitored by Espoo Region Environmental Health Services. The next update will be provided on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
