Taneli Kalliokoski appointed as Managing Director of Premises Department

The Espoo City Board has appointed Taneli Kalliokoski, Master of Science in Business and Economics, as Managing Director of the Premises Department (public utility). He will start in the position on 1 September.

Kalliokoski has worked for the City of Espoo in the past, serving as Service Production Manager in the Premises Department from 2018 to 2024. Since then, he has worked as a Facilities and Support Services Director at the Central Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County and as an entrepreneur.

The position of Managing Director of the Premises Department requires extensive experience in the real estate sector, as well as in business management and the development of service networks in cooperation with customers. The role also requires the ability to combine strategic thinking with practical implementation, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and experience in stakeholder collaboration and network management.

The Premises Department is a public utility of the City of Espoo that leases, develops and maintains premises required by the city, while ensuring that they are safe, healthy and fit for purpose. The city owns approximately 2,000 properties. The public utility has an annual turnover of approximately EUR 330 million and employs around 460 people.

A total of 60 people applied for the position, 39 of whom met the eligibility requirements.

The position became vacant because the current Managing Director, Maija Lehtinen, is retiring.
