June is Pride Month
Pride Month culminates in the Pride Parade and Park Festival in Helsinki’s Kaivopuisto on Saturday.
The City of Espoo continues its important work to promote diversity, equality and non-discrimination as one of Helsinki Pride’s Working with Pride partners.
Our partnership with Helsinki Pride is visible in LGBTQ-themed events across Espoo. We celebrate the promotion of human rights and equality through events in our libraries, cultural venues and museums. Explore the programme here: Pride events in Espoo.
Saturday’s Pride Parade starts from the Senate Square at 12:00, and about 100,000 people are expected to participate. A group of employees from the City of Espoo will also join the parade wearing white Pride-themed T-shirts. Come and celebrate equality, human rights and everyone’s right to be themselves!
The Helsinki Pride Community(external link, opens in a new window) is a non-governmental human rights organisation that does a variety of social, youth and collaborative work. It provides training and consulting services and advocates for the rights and wellbeing of sexual and gender minorities. The Helsinki Pride Community’s values are community, diversity and courage. This year’s theme is ‘Growing with Pride’.
