Espoo offers meaningful summer job experiences and receives record number of applications
The City of Espoo employs around 450 summer workers this year. Once again, we received a record number of applications, nearly 17,000, which is over 2,000 more than the year before.
We have employed young people in a wide range of roles, including property management and maintenance, green area maintenance, sports and youth services, and assistant roles in early childhood education. The City Planning Department, the Environment and Building Control Department, and Financial Services also offer summer jobs.
Applicants were most interested in assistant roles in early childhood education and libraries, office worker positions, and jobs related to green area maintenance, such as park and playground renovation and maintenance.
Summer jobs typically last about a month, and they offer young people meaningful and educational experiences in the world of work.
