Exhibition Centre WeeGee has been home to EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art and KAMU Espoo City Museum for twenty years. In addition, WeeGee features an exhibition on Mauri Kunnas as well as Matti Suuronen’s Futuro House.

Exhibition Centre WeeGee was launched in the former Weiling+Göös printing house in 2006. The building, designed by Professor Aarno Ruusuvuori, was constructed from concrete in the 1960s in a pine forest in Tapiola. Its architecture is unique, as it is exceptionally one of the few large buildings without load-bearing walls. WeeGee offers hundreds of square meters of exhibition space.

Over the years, several other museums, a gallery, an art school, as well as restaurants and cafés have operated at WeeGee. KAMU Espoo City Museum was among the first to begin its activities there, and the National Museum Days were held at the Exhibition Centre in May 2006. The centre officially opened in October 2006, when EMMA welcomed visitors for the first time.

WeeGee’s anniversary year is reflected in all events throughout the year. In summer, WeeGee is celebrated with outdoor events in June and August. A special anniversary week for the entire venue will be celebrated in week 42.
