Espoo is mapping out springs and streams
The Espoo City Planning Department and the Environment and Building Control Department are commissioning a report on springs and streams in Espoo. Springs and streams are an important part of the water economy and biodiversity in nature. The report will map out springs and streams in the entire Espoo region. The report will be drawn up by Luontotieto Keiron Oy.
For the report, nature surveyors will carry out nature visits in the entire Espoo area during spring and summer 2026. The survey is mainly targeted at unbuilt areas owned by the city. The nature survey will not concern private yards.
Commissioning nature surveys is one way how Espoo monitors the state of the environment. Surveys and reports provide up-to-date information on the city’s nature values, such as endangered and protected habitats.
