Official mail to be delivered to Suomi.fi Messages
During April 2026, the delivery method for official mail will change. In the future, you will primarily receive official mail electronically. The change is intended to happen from 14.4.2026, after the legislation has been confirmed.
After the change has taken place, when you log into a public authority’s online service, such as eVaka, a mailbox will be automatically created for you in Suomi.fi Messages.
After this, you will receive official mail in your Suomi.fi Messages mailbox, unless you disable the service. Suomi.fi Messages will replace paper mail from public authorities, and the same information will no longer be sent to your home as a letter.
In the future, the following decisions and invoices related to early childhood education in Espoo will be delivered to your Suomi.fi Messages mailbox:
- Decision on an early childhood education or pre-primary education place
- Decision on the amount of the early childhood education client fee
- Decision on service voucher value
- Decision on support for the child in early childhood education
- Invoices for early childhood education client fees
You will also receive messages from other public authorities in your Suomi.fi Messages mailbox (e.g. tax declarations, traffic penalty fee decisions, etc.).
If you are expecting an invoice from the City of Espoo but have not yet received it, please check your Suomi.fi Messages.
Please note that daily communication concerning early childhood education will continue to take place through eVaka. Espoo’s Early Childhood Education Unit will only send official decisions and invoices to your Suomi.fi Messages mailbox.
If you have already activated the Suomi.fi Messages service, nothing will change. You can use the service as before. If you do not have online banking codes, a mobile ID, or a Finnish personal identity code, the change does not apply to you.
