More than 1,200 children learned safety skills at ‘Kutsu poliisi 112’ concerts
The City of Espoo organised ‘Kutsu poliisi 112’ concerts for Espoo’s children for the 20th time, in cooperation with the Sunan koulu choir and the Helsinki Police Symphonic Band. This spring’s concerts filled Tapiola Hall and brought together more than 1,200 children and 190 adults.
The ‘Kutsu poliisi 112’ (Call the police 112) concerts are lively, joyful and engaging children’s concerts where music, stories and shared activities introduce children to important themes. The concerts are fun and interactive, and teach children about traffic safety, friendship and everyday situations in which making safe choices is important. This was the 20th time the ‘Kutsu poliisi 112’ concerts were organised in Espoo.
Two concerts were held on 9 March 2026 at Tapiola Hall. The audience included children attending day care, pre-primary education and grades 1 to 3.
Children were able to participate in the concerts by singing and dancing. The concerts also offered opportunities for peer learning, as 2nd-graders Veeti and Valtteri from Sunan koulu reminded the audience about good manners:
“Don’t bully other people,” said Veeti.
“Let’s include everyone. If someone is alone, ask them to come and play with you,” said Valtteri.
In addition to the shared promise “no bullying”, the children are sure to remember another vital message – the national emergency number 112.
The concerts featured familiar songs accompanied by the Helsinki Police Symphonic Band, such as Liikennelaulu, Kutsu poliisi 112 and Espoo's own Yhdessä ollaan enemmän. The children were also excited by the visit of the Police Lion.
Learning through joy and togetherness has a lasting impact.
