Highlighted events in April: Easter bunnies and Pete Parkkonen

Pete Parkkonen will perform at Espoo Cultural Centre, Tapiolasali on April 18th during his tour.

Plenty of events to choose from in April! At the Museum Leikki’s sweet workshops, you can mould a sweet Easter bunny out of sugar paste or decorate Easter eggs. On the Finnoo birdwatching trip, you can see the moorhen, the gadwall, the horned grebe and noisy black-headed gulls. At the Otaniemen lukio upper secondary school, you can explore current plans and development prospects in the Tapiola district. Among those performing at the Espoo Cultural Centre are Pete Parkkonen, one of the biggest names in Finnish music, and Asa, a long-time wordsmith.

Kinder Toy Hunt

Search for the funny Kinder Surprise toys hiding in the exhibition! The most desired Kinder Surprise toys from the 1990s have escaped into the exhibition at The Museum Leikki. Find the cute runaways and enter a draw to win a chocolate egg.

11 am–1 pm Easter Bunny Sweet Workshop

Taste the Easter bunny! In the sweet workshop at The Museum Leikki you can shape an adorable Easter bunny from sugar paste. The sweet materials for the workshop are provided by Dr. Oetker.

Fri–Sun 3–5 April

1–1.30 pm Lohtu Bear Surprise Moment

The Easter teddy is the best teddy! The Lohtu Bear mascot of The Museum Leikki will visit to give hugs and small chocolate eggs to children.

2–4 pm Easter Egg Painting Workshop

Let’s paint eggs! In the Easter egg workshop visitors decorate paper-mâché eggs with paint.

Finnoo birdwatching trip

Wednesday, 15 April 2026 between 6:00 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Finnoo nature trail

The Suomenoja or Finnoo pond is an excellent spot for birdwatching, as there are plenty of birds and observers can get close to them. The pool is an important roost for waterfowl and waders during migrations. The area is known for moorhens, gadwalls and horned grebes. A noisy colony of black-headed gulls also provides a safe nesting environment for other birds.

Pete Parkkonen has been a household name since 2008, after he participated in the third season of the Idols singing competition. However, the contest was only the beginning of a multifaceted career that has since cemented his position among the biggest names of the Finnish music scene. In January 2026, Parkkonen and violinist Linda Lampenius released a collaborative track titled Liekinheitin, with which the duo will compete in this year's Eurovision Song Contest
