Espoo equality walk on Minna Canth Day
Espoo’s Equality Committee and Sports and Wellbeing Committee invited all Espoo residents to participate in an equality walk on Minna Canth and Equality Day, 19 March 2026. About twenty people took part in this first-ever equality walk.
Wearing pink, we set off from the Matinkylä beach and admired the scenery along the Waterfront Walkway on our way towards Haukilahti. Our group included residents and committee members from different parties.
We organised the event to share information about our activities and to discuss equality-related issues in Espoo. The event increased the participants’ wellbeing and awareness, and we received useful feedback from residents.
This feel-good event beautifully combined an important message, physical activity and wellbeing. The equality walk was also an excellent opportunity for everyone to show their support for equality and non-discrimination. Cooperation between different bodies is valuable, and we have decided to continue organising equality walks as an annual collaborative event.
