Application open for early childhood education clubs for the term 2026–2027

You can now apply for a place in a club for your child for the term 2026–2027! The application period for Finnish-language early childhood education clubs lasts until 31 March 2026.

The club term 2026–2027 begins in Espoo on 13 August 2026 and ends on 28 May 2027.

Clubs offer diverse early childhood education activities. Children get to play, sing, do crafts, enjoy storytime, be physically active and spend time outdoors. In clubs, children make friends and practice everyday skills, such as participating in group activities and being independent, under the guidance of safe adults.

Clubs are intended for 2–5-year-old children being cared for at home. A child can join a club when they have turned 2 years old. Clubs are held in Finnish, but all children are warmly welcome regardless of their native language.

Club activities are free of charge for families and do not affect the child home care allowance paid by Kela.

• Clubs meet 2–3 days a week for about 2–3 hours at a time.
• The child participates in the activities without a guardian.
• Two early childhood education professionals work with the group.
• The group size is usually around 8–14 children, depending on their age.
