At the end of last year, Espoo’s general upper secondary schools organized a joint collection to support our sister city Kryvyi Rihi’s partner general upper secondary schools. The donated items have now been delivered to Kryvyi Rih, where residents are grateful for the help.

On Thursday, 26 February 2026, the unloading of the donated items in Kryvyi Rih was also followed by a local television news crew.

The Light and Warmth to Ukraine collection organized by the general upper secondary schools last November resulted in 77 large boxes of donated items. These have now been delivered to a local school, from where they will be distributed to other partner general upper secondary schools of Espoo.

The donations included, among other things, blankets, hygiene products, flashlights, reflectors, and power banks. In addition, five generators were generously donated to Ukraine. Clothing was not collected on this occasion.

The shipment was delivered to Ukraine under the coordination of the Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with local authorities.
