Marjo Poutanen appointed Director of KAMU Espoo City Museum

Marjo Poutanen has been appointed Director of KAMU Espoo City Museum. The KAMU Espoo City Museum is part of the City of Espoo organization and belongs to the cultural services unit.
The Director of the City Museum serves as head of the service area and is responsible for its development, as well as for financial and administrative duties and the museum’s societal relations. The museum also carries out cultural environment responsibilities as a regional responsibility museum. The KAMU museum family includes KAMU WeeGee at Exhibition Centre WeeGee, Glims Farmstead Museum, Villa Museum Villa Rulludd, Lagstad School Museum, and Pentala Archipelago Museum.
Marjo Poutanen has extensive experience from the Vantaa museums. Over the years, she has led the Vantaa Art Museum Artsi and the Vantaa City Museum. Since the beginning of 2020, she has headed the service unit consisting of these two museums. Poutanen is also a board member of the Finnish Museums Association, the Foundation of the Technology Museum, and the Helinä Rautavaara Ethnographic Museum Foundation.

Marjo Poutanen holds a Master of Philosophy degree and will begin her new position on 1 February 2026.
