Jatke Toimitilat Oy selected as contractor for Tapiola stadium
The City of Espoo has selected Jatke Toimitilat Oy as the contractor for the Tapiola stadium. The contract was signed on Thursday 11 December 2025. Construction work starts next year and is expected to be completed in 2029.
The 6,000-seat stadium to be built in the Tapiola sports park will offer a suitable venue for international football matches and major events. A parking facility with spaces for about 670 cars will be located under the stadium. Apartment buildings will be built on the western edge of the stadium block. The estimated cost of the stadium and the parking facility is EUR 74 million.
The project will now move on to the construction planning and permit phase. The actual construction work is expected to start in 2026, and according to the current estimate, the stadium will be completed in 2029.
“Now that the contract has been signed, we are one step closer to a new and improved sports park. The construction of the public areas in the northern part of the park has already started. The project will make the area a pleasant sports and event hub that is easy to reach by different modes of transport,” says Jarmo Kulmala, Project Director for Tapiola at the City of Espoo.
“This is an important project for Jatke Toimitilat as well as for Jatke Uusimaa, which will build the apartment buildings. The project will help us achieve our turnover targets over the coming years. Espoo residents have been waiting for decades for the development of the Tapiola sports park and a top-level football arena.
