New Swedish-language daycare opens in Espoo

Barnavårdsföreningen will open a private Swedish-language daycare in Keilaniemi. The daycare will welcome children starting from February 2, 2026.

Barnavårdsföreningen is opening a new Swedish-language daycare on February 2, 2026. BF Kägeludden daycare is a small private daycare located in the nature-rich Kägeludden area of Espoo. The daycare has room for up to 21 children aged 1–5 years. BF Kägeludden daycare accepts Espoo city’s service voucher. 

– Barnavårdsföreningen has long experience in providing quality and pedagogy in daycare. By expanding our operations, we want to offer alternatives for families in Espoo, says Barnavårdsföreningen’s Head of Early Childhood Education, Petra Stén.

Early childhood education plays an important role for Barnavårdsföreningen 

Barnavårdsföreningen’s social mission is to support families with children in their everyday lives. Early childhood education creates the foundation for a good and safe childhood and supports families by strengthening parenthood. 

– Barnavårdsföreningen wants to help ensure sufficient Swedish-language services in early childhood education, and we now look forward to opening our first daycare in Espoo, says Barnavårdsföreningen’s Executive Director, Pia Sundell.

Barnavårdsföreningen already operates two daycares in Helsinki: Tallbo daghem and Tölö daghem. Barnavårdsföreningen is Finland’s oldest child protection organization and has provided early childhood education since 1910.
