Espoo’s draft building ordinance available for public review

At its meeting on 30 October 2025, the Environment and Building Control Committee decided to make the city’s draft building ordinance available for public review from 5 November to 5 December 2025. The draft is only available in Finnish. During the public review period, residents, companies and associations can express their opinions (objections) on the draft building ordinance. After the public review period, the working group will go through all opinions submitted and work on a building ordinance proposal based on the draft. The working group will particularly focus on construction projects to be exempted from the permit requirement. Read more about the revision of Espoo’s building ordinance.
