Construction of the new building for Vallipuiston päiväkoti day care centre (at Ratapölkky 1) is about to start. The existing building, which has had indoor air problems, will be demolished and replaced with a new one. The new building has been designed for seven groups of children.

The old, mainly single-storey wooden building was completed in 1983. Due to the construction project, the day care centre has been operating for some time in temporary facilities in the relocatable Veräjäpellon päiväkoti day care centre in Leppävaara.

The new wooden day care centre will have two storeys. It will provide facilities for six basic groups and one additional group. The project also includes the construction of two outdoor storage sheds.

Construction will last for about a year, and activities in the new Vallipuiston päiväkoti are expected to begin in late 2026. Demolition of the old building will start in late October or early November. The contractor is Rakennusliike Evälahti Uusimaa Oy.
