In August, Espoo offers a wide range of exciting events, including top sporting moments, epic festival experiences and inspiring film adventures. The month culminates in Espoo Day, a city-wide celebration for all residents, on the last weekend of August.

Major events in Espoo – August 2025

Weekend Festival 1–2 August (external link, opens in a new window)
The largest electronic music festival in the Nordic countries will be held at Vermo Event Park. Weekend Festival brings together internationally renowned electronic music artists and thousands of music fans.

Kalevan kisat 1–3 August (external link, opens in a new window) 
The Finnish Athletics Championships will be held at the Leppävaara sports park. Kalevan Kisat brings the country’s top athletes and athletics fans to the city.

Tapiola Festival 14–16 August(external link, opens in a new window) 
The three-day music-filled Tapiola Festival will take place this year at GolfStar Range in Leppävaara. The festival weekend culminates in Super Sunday, an all-ages event for the whole family.

At the NouxFest outdoor festival, visitors can engage in outdoor activities, try out new sports and enjoy the communal festival atmosphere amidst the wilderness in Nuuksio.

SM-viikko (The Week of Finnish Championships) brings the top athletes in 24 sports to Espoo to compete for Finnish championships.
