Goalball Clubs World Cup, 22–25 May 2025

Goalball Clubs World Cup is held in Tapiola Sports Park, and the games have free admission. The internationally successful sports club from Espoo, Old Power, is the main organiser of the championships. Both the women’s and men’s teams of Old Power are participating in the championships. Goalball is a fast-paced game originally for athletes with a vision impairment, and it is based on auditory perception. The attacking team tries to get the ball over their opponent’s goal line, and the defending team tries to prevent it. The game is played with a ball with bells embedded inside it. All players wear glasses that completely cover their sight so that they are equal, even if some players have no vision impairments.
