Espoo’s Senioripaku Välkky is set to delight and entertain elderly people in Espoo again in the summer. Senioripaku Välkky’s season starts on 27 May 2025 with an opening event at Lippulaiva Library. Elderly people in Espoo, including their families and friends, can enjoy the activities offered at Senioripaku Välkky’s stops on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until the end of August.

Senioripaku Välkky offers elderly people a versatile selection of free activities on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, such as guided exercise, dance sessions, art and cultural experiences, and service counselling. Välkky also provides library services and guidance on Espoo’s Home Library services, the library’s flexi-customer model, and the activities offered by various organisations.

“Over the years, Senioripaku Välkky has shown that, even in the summer, we need services that bring people together. Välkky offers an excellent combination of culture, exercise, togetherness, and guidance. People want high-quality programming and meaningful activities – and the fact that we already have regular visitors who are eagerly awaiting the start of the new season clearly reflects our success,” says Elina Pulli from Espoo’s Cultural Services.

Espoo has organised its Senioripaku activities since 2022 in collaboration with the City of Espoo’s Sports and Cultural Services, Omnia Espoo Adult Education Centre, Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, and various organisations and volunteers. Their flexible collaboration has helped ensure that Senioripaku Välkky’s diverse activities meet the needs and wishes of elderly people in Espoo.

Opening event will be arranged in Lippulaiva Library, Tuesday 27 May 2025 at 10:30–12:00. The programme includes an exercise session, advice, the Chair Circus, and free coffee and tea.

First stop is Suvela Residents’ Park, 3 June 2025 at 10:30–12:30.
