My Story 2 campaign collects stories from children and young people to be published in a book

Espoo City Library is looking for children and young people to share their stories again! The My Story 2 campaign collects stories from 9th May to 31st October. The official patron of the campaign is the Mayor of Espoo Kai Mykkänen.
Espoo City Library's My Story 2 campaign is collecting once again stories written by children and young people to be published in My Story 2. The campaign is a continuation of the previous, popular My Story campaign.
The campaign aims to inspire and encourage children and young people to write and express themselves. You can send in stories, poems, lyrics or comics. The choice of writing language is up to the child or young person. An illustration made by the child or young person can also be attached to the writing.
The official patron of the My Story 2 campaign is the Mayor of Espoo, Kai Mykkänen.
The campaign is open for submissions from 9 May to 31 October 2025. You can submit your own writing using the My Story 2 web form(external link, opens in a new window). We will also collect writings and illustrations in libraries during various events.
Selection of submissions will be published in the book. We recommend a maximum length of 20 pages if the text is typed on a computer. Parental permission will be requested separately for stories and illustrations selected for publication by authors under 15 years of age. Some pieces of writing that aren’t included in the book may still be published online later.
Surprise prizes will be raffled among all those who participate. All participants will be automatically entered into a prize draw.
The children's writings collected during the first My Story campaign were published in autumn 2024 in the My Story book. You can borrow the book from the library(external link, opens in a new window). Writings by young people have been published in the My Story online collection on the City of Espoo website.
