Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa serve employers together

The three major cities in the capital region – Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa – offer a joint service channel for employers regardless of their home municipality or service needs.

The new service channel was launched in January 2025 when responsibility for public employment services was transferred to municipalities. As the capital region is one big travel-to-work area, the cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa wanted to provide a service for employers beyond municipal borders.

“Our aim is to improve our services for employers. We all want to meet employers’ needs in an efficient and client-oriented manner,” says Espoo’s Director of Employment Services Hilla-Maaria Sipilä.

Employer services of three cities through one contact point

The new service channel is easy to use, as employers are served through one telephone number and email address. Employers are assisted by an expert from Helsinki, Espoo or Vantaa. Questions are answered immediately over the phone or by email whenever possible, and service needs are referred to the right place.

Extensive support and advice for employers

The service channel helps employers in a wide range of matters. Our experts give advice on how to advertise vacancies and find workforce. They also give advice on financial support for employment and transition security issues.

“Employers should not hesitate to contact us. A wide range of municipal services and a pool of experts in the capital region are at their disposal,” says Mikko Kurppa, Team Leader of the Employer Services Unit at Helsinki Employment Services.

Employers can contact the service channel by phone or email.
