Thank you to everyone who voted in the county and municipal elections, and congratulations to the newly elected council members
Yesterday was an exciting day as new members were elected to county and municipal councils.
The Espoo City Council has 75 members. In Espoo, the voter turnout in the municipal elections was 54.5 per cent. The distribution of seats per party in the Espoo City Council for the 2025–2029 term:
- National Coalition Party: 28
- The Greens: 15
- Social Democratic Party of Finland: 14
- Swedish People’s Party of Finland: 6
- Finns Party: 4
- Left Alliance: 3
- Centre Party of Finland: 2
- Christian Democrats in Finland: 2
- Liberal Party – Freedom to Choose: 1
In the county elections, voters elected their representatives to the Western Uusimaa County Council, which has a total of 79 members. Among the new members, 50 are from Espoo. In Espoo, the voter turnout in the county elections was 53.4 per cent.
The new councils will start their work on 1 June 2025. The first meeting of the new Espoo City Council will be held on Monday 9 June 2025. The first meeting of the new Western Uusimaa County Council will be held on Tuesday 10 June 2025.
