Open call for artists to create Art Mobs in Espoo

2.4.2025 5.29

Artists and artistic groups are invited to submit their proposals for Art Mobs created around the themes of sustainable development. Applications are accepted until 27 April 2025.

Art Mobs are small-scale art experiences taking place in Espoo’s public urban spaces between 1 July and 30 November 2025. They are free of charge and open to all.

Organised under the Future Stories concept, Art Mobs can be either scheduled performances or spontaneous flash mob-style events.  This open call aims to provide a platform for performances that would perhaps not fit into the programming of Espoo’s cultural venues due to their format or execution. The application period runs until 27 April 2025, closing at 17:00.  Read more in the application guidelines available on the Future Stories website

Future Stories concept

The Future Stories concept, run by Espoo’s Cultural Venues and Services for the third year in a row, is all about urban culture built around sustainable development themes.

“Art and culture are powerful agents for change. Art provides a space to explore topics from different perspectives and play with imagination. That’s why we want to use culture and art to inspire people to envision the future and reflect on the significance of sustainability,” says Senior Producer Salla Vallius.

This year, Future Stories will come to life through Art Mobs. Art Mobs function like public service announcements, encouraging people to think about the future and sustainable development through art and culture. Read more about Future Stories at espoo.fi/en/future-stories.
