Espoo’s City Council meets today at 17:30. On today’s agenda: Local detailed plan amendment for the Kulttuuriaukio Square in Tapiola.

The design for Kulttuuriaukio Square will make it a pleasant and green open urban space, ideal for spending time and organising events. New facilities for the Espoo City Theatre will be built in the extension of the Tapiola Cultural Centre. New commercial, office and service premises as well as residential buildings are also planned for the area.

The City Council is the highest decision-making body in Espoo

A total of 75 members are elected to the City Council every four years.

The City Council is in charge of the City of Espoo’s operations and finances. It sets goals for the city and makes the most important decisions. The members elect from among themselves officials to the City Board and committees.
