Both JA companies established by students from Etelä-Tapiolan lukio moved on from the regional Uusimaa competition to the Uskalla Yrittää finals, which is the national final event for young people’s JA companies.

Etelä-Tapiolan lukio’s student companies received awards at the regional competition, as Haltija NYT was chosen as the Best JA Company and Alegría NYT’s product was the winner of the Best Product category at the upper secondary level. Haltija NYT offers energy drinks made from Finnish raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants and other wild berries, while Alegría NYT makes amaranth snacks.

The JA Company programme allows young people to get a taste of entrepreneurship practically without risk and learn workplace skills needed in the future. Junior Achievement (JA) Finland offers the JA Company programme for schools and organises Uskalla Yrittää events.

The regional Uskalla Yrittää event was held at Sello on Wednesday 5 March 2025. More than 100 companies launched by young people from comprehensive and upper secondary schools participated in the regional competition, and only 12 of them made it to the finals.

In addition to the students from Etelä-Tapiolan lukio, Espoo was represented at the regional event by three companies from Mattlidens gymnasium, five companies from Lagstads skola and five companies from Omnia.

The Uskalla Yrittää finals will be held at Mall of Tripla in Helsinki on 23 and 24 April.
