Members of the new Employment Subcommittee have been selected – Mervi Katainen serves as chairperson

The Employment Subcommittee will meet for the first time on 24 February 2025.

Responsibility for the provision of public employment services was transferred to municipalities at the beginning of 2025. Espoo and Kauniainen form a joint employment area, with the Employment Subcommittee acting as its decision-making body. 

The members of the Employment Subcommittee have now been selected, and their term will run from 20 January to 31 May 2025. Espoo has five members and Kauniainen has two members, and they all have a personal deputy member. The chairperson is Mervi Katainen (National Coalition Party), and the vice-chairperson is Tiina Elo (Greens).

The subcommittee meets four times a year, and it will have its first meeting on 24 February 2025.
