Espoo’s circular economy cooperation network grows
The development of the hub for circular economy innovations, business and expertise in Kiviruukki is progressing. The expanding multidisciplinary circular economy cooperation network and a virtual showroom presenting its members gives clean technology companies also international visibility and boosts their growth.
In addition to cooperation within the city, the conditions for circular economy activities are co-created with other projects, ecosystems, organisations, cities, and private operators. A study together with the City Planning Department focusing on carbon neutrality, nature-wise development and the circular economy in the Kiviruukki area was completed at the end of the year. The opportunities and limitations related to land use in Kiviruukki are also taken into consideration in the development of the area, which aims to integrate an urban residential area with circular economy business and RDI activities in a way that makes it easy to live and operate in the area.
