The Sports and Exercise Committee held a meeting on 23 January 2025. It took note of the well-being report for 2022–2025, approved the update of the allocation criteria for sports facility shifts and made a formal decision that the +68 Sport Wristband will not have an annual price or a physical wristband fee.

The Sports and Exercise Committee approved a proposal, according to which the shifts of basic art education exercise groups will be in third place in the allocation criteria. In practice, this means that sports groups of people under 20 years of age in basic arts education are treated in the same way as similar sports club groups.

In the allocation criteria for sports facilities, city-run guided exercise groups have the first priority. The second-place priority is given to sports activities of registered sports clubs and associations as well as children and young adults under the age of 20. Most of the users belong to this group.

The service unit responsible for facility reservations for sports and exercise allocates shifts at more than 600 different sports facilities. Shifts are granted for two years at a time. The summer shifts for the fields, halls and venues are allocated for one year at a time. Outside the application periods, single and regular shifts are continuously allocated for the free slots.

In accordance with the budget and financial plan approved by the Council on 4 December 2024, +68 Sport Wristbands shall continue to be completely free of charge. To implement the decision of the council, the Sports and Exercise Committee reintroduced the discussion for the pricing of the +68 Sports Wristband. The Sports and Exercise Committee decided the sport fees in April 2024.
