Nominate a recipient for the Hurraa! Award in Construction

The Hurraa! recognition award is Espoo’s tribute to a significant achievement in the built environment, carried out with exceptional merit and success. This is the eleventh time the award will be presented, and it is granted by the Espoo Environment and Building Committee and Espoo Building Control. Submit your nomination for the award by 29 November 2024!

The Hurraa! award is given to a project that exemplarily fulfils or promotes the goals of Espoo Building Control. In addition, honourable mentions may be awarded.

The award or honourable mention can be given to one or more achievements related to Espoo’s built environment which have been completed or come to prominence during this year. Such achievements include:

  • new construction projects
  • renovation projects
  • area developments
  • public outdoor spaces
  • blue-green infrastructure projects or environmental actions
  • technical development work, or
  • work contributions by individuals or organisations.

Submit your nomination via email by 29 November 2024

Do you know of any projects completed or actions taken this year that deserve recognition? Send your nomination and supporting arguments to the Building Control registry at rava.kirjaamo@espoo.fi no later than 29 November 2024. You can also include a photo of the project you are nominating.

Nominees that meet the set criteria will be presented to the Espoo Environment and Building Committee. The committee will select the winner in spring 2025.

The Hurraa! recognition award has been presented since 2014. In recent years, the award has been given to the Metsolan päiväkoti daycare centre, the Kirstinmäki residential block, and the Monikon koulukeskus school centre. Honourable mentions have been awarded for projects such as the artistic enhancement of Matinkylä beach buildings and the renovation and conversion of the protected MTK College into a service and care home for people with disabilities.
