New cycling route in Tapiola

A new gently sloping bridge ramp has been built in Tapiola, on the eastern side of the Merituulentie tunnel. It offers a new accessible and bicycle-friend route between Itätuulenkuja and Tuulikinsilta, which is the deck level in front of the Ainoa shopping centre. There used to be a staircase where the ramp now is.

The construction of the concrete deck and its foundations continues on Itätuulenkuja. Due to the construction work, some temporary access bridges on the deck level will be removed between Sammonsilta and Itätuulenkuja 3. The direct pedestrian access from the street level on Itätuulenkuja near the Tuulimäki street to the Ainoa shopping centre and to the metro and bus terminal is also temporarily closed. Pedestrians can access Ainoa through the new bridge ramp or the deck level. At the western end of Itätuulenkuja, the route from the Omnia building towards Sammonsilta is also still available through the wooden bridge.
