Rapper Yeboyah will perform at Kannusali on 26 October.

Espoo has many venues for cultural activities. These are for example the Sello Hall, Kannusali, Children’s Cultural Centre Aurora, WeeGee Exhibition Centre and Espoo Cultural Centre. They now have new programmes for this autumn.

Stand up comedy

Kannusali is located in underground in Espoon keskus. Kannusali has cultural activities especially for young people.

The programme for this autumn includes a stand up comedy evening on 23 October. During the evening, comedians from different backgrounds will perform in Finnish and English.

Rap artist Yeboyah and R&B artist Nisa will perform at Kannusali on 26 October. The event is open to people of all ages.

On 19 October, a music class for children aged 0–7 will be held. The music class is called Megamuskari.

Coming to Kannusali by train is easy. Kannusali is located near the Espoo train station.

Diwali at Sello Hall

The Sello Hall is located in next to the shopping centre Sello in Leppävaara, Espoo. Coming to the Sello Hall by train is easy, because the Sello Hall is located near the Leppävaara train station. The Sello Hall’s programme is suitable for people of all ages.

The music events include many music genres.  During holidays, schoolchildren can watch movies for free. Located next to the Sello Hall is the Sello Library.

One of the big events of the autumn is on 27 October when the Finnish-Indian Society celebrates Diwali in Leppävaara. During the event, Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan will perform at the Sello Hall.

The Sello Hall also has day dances. Participating in them is free.

Japanese culture and Ukrainian ballet at Espoo Cultural Centre

The Espoo Cultural Centre is located in Tapiola. Going there by bus or metro is easy.

Yureicon is a Halloween-themed event for adults. It will be held on 26–27 October at the Espoo Cultural Centre. The programme of the event includes hobbies linked to Japanese popular culture. These include costumes and animation.

On 7 December, the Ukrainian Ballet will perform at the Espoo Cultural Centre. They will perform Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet “The Nutcracker”.

WeeGee Exhibition Centre

The WeeGee Exhibition Centre is located in Tapiola, near the Espoo Cultural Centre. WeeGee has museums, exhibitions and events.

Mauri Kunnas is a famous Finnish author who writes and draws books for children. WeeGee has an exhibition about his work. The exhibition covers both Kunnas’ books and his personal life. The exhibition is suitable for the whole family. In December, fans can even meet Mauri Kunnas!

EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art is also located in WeeGee. In addition, WeeGee has events such as April Jazz Club, WeeGee jazz evenings and WeeGee Reads literary events.

Admission to WeeGee is free on Fridays from 15.00 to 19.00.

Children’s Cultural Centre Aurora

The Children’s Cultural Centre Aurora has activities for both children and adults. The activities for adults include art sessions and cultural experiences.

Aurora is a place where people can be creative. For example, a workshop held at Aurora on 12 October is about painting. The workshop is for children aged 3–12. The children must have an adult with them. Workshop | City of Espoo

Aurora is located in Järvenperä. The bus connections between Aurora and Leppävaara or Espoon keskus are good.
