Welcome to the City of Espoo, summer employees!
We are again offering meaningful summer job experiences to about 400 young people. We received more applications than last year, 8,800 in total. Thank you to everyone who applied.
This summer, we hired young people to work in property management and maintenance, green area maintenance, assistive jobs in early childhood education, and sports and youth services. It is very important to us that all young people find their place in our work communities.
We offer a variety of summer jobs, also in the City Planning Department, Environment and Building Control Department and Financial Services. Applicants were most interested in jobs related to green area maintenance, such as park and playground renovation and maintenance, as well as a library assistant’s work.
A summer job usually lasts one month and offers a young person an opportunity to learn and experience something new.
This year, we gave young people some 1,600 summer job vouchers. The City of Espoo pays EUR 300 to an employer who hires a young Espoo resident (born 2005–2009) between 1 May and 30 September using a summer job voucher.
