The Culture Chain service offers art and culture services to elderly people and care staff at nursing homes, residential care homes and service centres. In 2024, the Culture Chain also arrives in Espoo libraries.

There will be a steady stream of performances throughout the summer and autumn in Entresse, Iso Omena, Lippulaiva, Sello and Tapiola libraries as well as Kalajärvi Hall in Kalajärvi. The events at the libraries are particularly aimed at elderly people but everyone is welcome.

Cultural experiences at the libraries are brought to you by Espoo Big Band duo, Janus Hanski with his guitar, PPO Wind Band, Dominante choir, dance theatre Glims & Gloms and the Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu. A total of 28 Culture Chain performances will be organised in libraries. Performance information will be updated on Helmet.fi(external link, opens in a new window) and performance details can be found at the beginning of June using the event search and typing in “Culture Chain”.

This year, the Culture Chain is organising over 150 events. Visits may include small-scale concerts, dance and theatre performances, poetry and literature gatherings or organised dances with accompanying music. These stimulating and delightful cultural performances and activities are provided by professional artists and art enthusiasts.

The Culture Chain’s operations are coordinated by the Cultural Promotion and Partnerships service area.
