Fathi Ahmed, the most peculiar and intriguing storyteller in the Finnish comedy scene, brings his new stand-up performance to Kannusali. The maid, the chef, the TV star lands on the underground stage on Thursday, February 8. The show tells Fathi's story from childhood to the present: from being a "maid" in a refugee family's everyday life to losing youth in alcohol and long days as a chef, and finally, as an adult, becoming a TV star who has forgotten his roots.
On March 8, Kannusali will host the long-awaited stand-up solo by the popular comedian Mebe. Mebe often starts the show by asking the Finnish audience for a lot of love and a personal identification number. According to Mebe, it's not too much to ask for, considering he has lived in Finland for over 25 years. Mebe quickly wins the audience over with sharp jokes and brilliant improvisation. Mebe's shows often sell out, so it's advisable to buy tickets early.
The enchanting circus variety Lumous takes the audience on a journey through dazzling circus acts on March 21. The new performance includes tightrope dancing, duo and contortion acrobatics, magic, and artistry with a cyr wheel.
The Easter stand-up on March 28 entices the audience to start the holiday weekend with a mini-marathon of laughter. The evening brings a bunch of fresh, up-and-coming open mic comedians, those who have already shown their claws, and seasoned veterans to the stage. Spectators get a humorous cross-section of different styles of stand-up and a robust workout for their abdominal muscles. The evening's MC is the playful Helena Pöllänen.
Pari Sanaa Parisuhteesta at Kannusali on April 26 is Ilkka Heiskanen's monologue, that invites viewers to delve into the twists and turns of relationships. The entertaining and contemplative performance promises laughter and food for thought.
