Culture for all at Sello Hall in spring 2024
The majority of Sello Hall’s spring 2024 events have been announced. Audiences will be able to enjoy a diverse range of music and performing arts. In addition to chart-topping artists, Sello Hall will feature folk and world music, the music of minority cultures and dance.
During its twenty years of operation, the 400-seat Sello Hall, located in Leppävaara, has become known for its high-quality events ranging from music and performing arts to entertainment and children’s culture. Sello Hall celebrated its 20th anniversary in the autumn of 2023 and is now ready to move ahead with an even more exciting programme, designed to appeal to Espoo residents and wider audiences alike.
Hot names in pop music performing at Sello Hall in spring 2024 include Ellinoora, Sara Siipola, ONEVIOLIN, Hassan Maikal and Maustetytöt. The spring line-up also includes many seasoned veterans of the Finnish music scene, such as Erja Lyytinen, Neljä Ruusua, Club For Five, Miljoonasade, Uniklubi and Maarit Hurmerinta, who will be guest-starring at the Laulun takaa event. To mark Women’s Day in March, superb female artists will take the stage at Sello Hall; during the week, there will be concerts by Anneli Saaristo, Aliisa Syrjä and Katri Ylander.
The spring programme also includes performing arts, dance and comedy. One of the leading modern dance troupes in Finland, Susanna Leinonen Company, brings its performance Nightingale, featuring senior dancers, to Sello Hall. Comedy acts include an evening with audience favourites Heli Sutela and Krisse Salminen, and Someoletettu, an evening with Ilari Johansson. The Tuoretta verta group offers a younger perspective on stand-up comedy. Audiences will also be able to enjoy the super popular Tanssien Tähtiin show.
Sello Hall also provides non-mainstream musical experiences. The unique concert Karjalasta kolttien maille combines Karelian and Skolt Sámi music and dance traditions. Hilja Grönfors, a leading performer and preserver of traditional Romani music, and her Latšo Džinta band will hold a concert to celebrate International Romani Day. Admission to the concert is free.
The programme also features a wide selection of cultural events for families and children. A joint event for the whole family will be organised together with Espoon monikulttuuriset lapset ja nuoret ry (association of Espoo’s multicultural children and young people). Sello Hall’s spring also includes crowd-pleasers and award-winning acts such as Red Nose Company, Pikku Papun Orkesteri, and Mimmit.
