Important role in planning and development

The round table is a cooperative body for the student council boards of Espoo’s general upper secondary schools, which operates under the Youth Council. The round table includes the chairperson and one vice-chairperson of the student council board from each general upper secondary school in Espoo.  The members have the right to bring initiatives and statements to the round table. The chairperson and vice-chairperson of the round table are elected by the Youth Council. The round table convenes 4–6 times a year, and the summit takes place once a year. The activities of the round table are guided by the City of Espoo’s Youth Services and Upper Secondary Education units.

The round table plays an important role in city-level planning and development of general upper secondary education. At the meetings, round table participants discuss issues related to students’ daily lives. If necessary, issues are forwarded to decision-making bodies through the Youth Council.
